David Braid

Hailed in the Canadian press as "A jazz genius to call our own" (MacLean's Magazine), Juno award winning David Braid is among a new generation of Canadian artists making his mark on international stages. Braid has performed across Western Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, Australia, Brazil, the United States and Canada. Recently awarded Jazz Pianist of the Year in Canada, Braid is also a recipient of SOCAN Composer of the Year, recognizing his output of over seventy works including compositions for solo piano, jazz ensembles and symphony orchestras.

Raffi Altounian

Raffi Altounian began his comprehensive music education at The Royal Conservatory of Music with guitarist Robert Hamilton, Dr. Araxie Altounian and William Beauvais. During these years, he trained in classical guitar performance, composition and piano. He later pursued undergraduate studies in guitar performance at the University of Toronto studying with guitarists Jeffrey McFadden and Dr. Alvin Tung, and then completed this degree at the University of Montreal with Peter McCutcheon. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Altounian received top prizes in music festivals at both the local and national levels. He then completed a Masters degree in music performance at Florida State University where he studied with Bruce Holzman. Raffi now teaches guitar at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

The Annex Quartet

Recognized for their eclectic repertoire of music, The Annex Quartet—Hezekiah Leung, Carolyn Blackwell (violins), Yunior Lopez (viola), and Peter Cosbey (cello)—continues to deliver dynamic performances that push the boundaries of classical music. Since 2008, the quartet has been in high demand throughout Toronto and abroad. Recent performances include the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheater at the Four Seasons Centre, Montreal Museum of Modern Art, and Carnegie Hall.
